Job Description – Project Engineer

Department/Business Unit: Taurus Industrial Group F/K/A Testengeer, Inc in Port Lavaca, TX

We are seeking two highly motivated Project Engineers to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a key role in ensuring the seamless execution of projects across all stages, from initial planning to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with operations, maintenance, management, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure a smooth project execution process.

  • Oversee all project activities, guaranteeing adherence to industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.

  • Leverage your industrial engineering expertise to optimize project processes and workflows.

  • Manage and execute project expansions and capital projects, including preparation of cost estimates and bid/purchase requisition packages.

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of expansion projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards, budget, and timelines.

  • Provide technical guidance and expertise on equipment selection, layout, process review, validation protocols, and quality assurance measures.

  • Apply Lean principles to identify and eliminate waste, streamline workflows, and optimize resource allocation for project efficiency.

  • Collect and analyze project performance data using industrial engineering tools and techniques. Generate reports to provide insights and identify areas for improvement.

  • Address and resolve technical and operational challenges through root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.

Qualifications/Skill Requirements:

  1. Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.

  2. One year of relevant experience in project engineering or a similar role.

  3. Strong understanding of industrial engineering principles and their application to project optimization.

  4. Excellent project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.

  5. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

  6. Excellent communication, written and verbal, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.

  7. Analytical mind with a strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management software is a plus.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

The overall nature of the position is sedentary in nature requiring little physical effort and occasional light physical exertion. There is little, if any, exposure to environmental conditions.

  • Constant Physical Demands: Talking and hearing.

  • Frequent Physical Demands: Sitting, standing, and walking.

  • Occasional Physical Demands: Carrying, pushing, pulling, handling, repetitive motions, and eye/hand/foot coordination.

There will be a periodic need for site visits to client locations. During this time, candidates will be around on-site heavy construction/maintenance work and process equipment.

Travel Requirement:

  • This position requires occasional over-the-road and air travel (domestic).
