Project Engineer (Port Lavaca):

Plan and manage various types and scales of projects including expansion and improvement projects. Coordinate projects during different phases with internal groups, 3rd party contractors, and project owners. Control project expenses and schedule during execution. Resolve issues with over budget and schedule delay.  Monitor project progress and prepare project reports for all project phases. Review engineering deliverables from all professionals to ensure compliance with project scope, engineering specifications, codes, standards, and safety requirements. Assist 3D model reviews to identify potential field interferences issues. Develop required engineering documents to prepare and issue material requisitions. Evaluate vendor quotations and clarify technical issues. Review and approve vendor drawings, conduct shop visits if necessary and monitor fabrication and delivery progress. Review payment documents. Develop required engineering documents to prepare and issue construction bid packages. Evaluate contractors’ bidding proposal and conduct technical clarification.  Assist contracting department during commercial activities with the contractors. Organize pre-construction, and kick-off meetings after contract awarded. Review and Respond to Request for Information (RFIs) from contractors to resolve field issues and prevent bottlenecks. Perform field inspections to verify compliance with contract scope when necessary. Review and approve payment. Provide required engineering support during pre-commissioning, and startup.

Requires, bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or foreign equivalent) or closely related and 2 years of experience as mechanical engineer, engineer or relevant or master’s degree in mechanical engineering (or foreign equivalent) or closely related.
