Process Engineer (Port Lavaca):
Process Engineer: (Port Lavaca, TX)
Designing and planning new projects to improve process for PVC resin production, including estimating cost, comparing pros and cons, and scheduling timeline for each task. Collaborate with other engineers to experiment with new materials and replace existing materials to reduce the cost, increase supplier channels, and improve product performance. Reviewing and modifying the design of plant equipment and pipelines to improve reliability of material production process such as material storage location, transfer systems, and flushing system. Monitor LIMS laboratory sample results for process performance throughout the production stages to determine and evaluate degree of control over variables such as temperature, density, specific gravity, and pressure. Use PI Process Book/PI Datalink to observe and analyze plant process data trends from Distributed Control System (DCS) to modify process control parameters for better performance. DCS sequences/interlock modification to improve production efficiency and process safety. Evaluate volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in stack emissions and residual chemicals in wastewater systems to ensure within the limits of environmental regulations. Evaluate the risk of hazards of process operations and product transportation to ensure community health and safety. Prepare proposals and analyze budget for improvement projects. Prepare production analysis reports and abnormal reports. Requires bachelor’s degree in materials engineering, chemical engineering or closely related + 2 years of relevant experience or master’s degree in materials engineering, chemical engineering or closely related.
